Andrea Denning is a sixth-generation Missourian who was born and raised in Kansas City. Her parents were heavily involved in Jackson County politics which is probably the reason for her political ambitions. Having worked on several campaigns, including her mother’s bid for City Council, her dad’s run for US Congress, and Dick Berkley’s second run for Mayor, among several others, it seemed natural for her to go all-in.
Andrea is married to Ken Denning and has two wonderful boys who graduated from Platte County High School. All through their youth, she was active in the community and volunteered at the school, and led the boys through Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Her eldest son achieved Eagle Scout. They have lived in Platte County since 1994.
Andrea is a business owner, operating a stained glass studio in Platte City. She designs new windows, removes and restores old windows, and installs them as well. She teaches classes and sells supplies in the studio too.
Her community involvement includes the Platte City Chamber of Commerce, and the Platte City Friends of the Arts serving as Vice President 2022- 2023. Andrea also sits on the board of the Stained Glass Association of America.
She has been and is an active member of the community and her devotion to service runs deep.
One of my main concerns is the strength and resilience of our public education system. I am determined to secure the necessary public resources for our teachers to provide our children with a high-quality education, fostering an environment that is inclusive, equitable, and conducive to their overall success.
I believe in the fundamental importance of healthcare as a cornerstone of personal rights, and I am committed to ensuring that individuals have access to affordable, quality care.
I support policies that increase jobs at fair wages and help small businesses all across the state.
